Beecher Schools wants your input! Survey attached

Beecher 200U is considering a change in the start of the school day and is seeking input from stakeholders. This change is being considered in order to provide more instructional time at the high school. Currently, athletic and extra-curricular events require JH and HS students to be released early at the end of the school day for travel. This travel time results in students missing valuable instructional time. With the increase in rigor of the common core state standards and testing, it is necessary to provide students with the maximum class instruction time to achieve the state requirements and this could be accomplished by starting the day earlier.

If school begins 15 minutes earlier than the current start time, then school would be dismissed 15 minutes earlier.

If school begins 30 minutes earlier than the current start time, then school would be dismissed 30 minutes earlier.

The start of school time change would be a change for all buildings.
