PARCC Testing at BES

posted Mar 6, 2015, 12:59 PM by Melissa Ohlendorf

PARCC testing will take place at BES for grades 3-5 on Tuesday, March 10 - Thursday, March 12; and continue on Tuesday, March 17 and Wed. March 18. Please have students arrive at school on-time, and well-rested with a good breakfast! Please avoid appointments and other interruptions, as well.

You can help your child do his or her best on the test:

  1. Have your child attend school every day.
  2. Help your child get a good night’s sleep the night before testing.
  3. Provide a healthy breakfast on the mornings of testing.
  4. Remind your child to ask questions if they don’t understand the test directions.
  5. Let your child know that you have confidence in his or her ability to do their best.
  6. Tell your child not to worry about the test—just do the best he or she can do.
The Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois PTA have produced an informative booklet about the upcoming standardized testing that will replace the old ISAT tests.  This spring, our students will participate in the new PARCC tests.  We hope the attached booklet will answer some of the questions you may have about the Illinois assessments.
