BHS Counselor Steve Sarsany and students from BHS and BJHS attended the Girls Leadership Conference through the Will County Regional Office of Education on Thursday, February 23. The students were joined by Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant.  The Senator spoke to the girls about leadership and career choices.  Author Jodee Blanco was the guest speaker.  Blanco shared her personal story and how she overcame the abuse of bullying in high school.  Blanco has written 3 books and has traveled extensively for years speaking to young men and women about overcoming bullying.  Colette Tracy with Junior Achievement hosted an interactive workshop for the girls on self-esteem.  Of course our conference wouldn’t be complete without a session on health and fitness with a session of Zumba!
