December Tax Levy

December Tax Levy

At the December meeting, the Board of Education approved the latest local property tax levy. This impacts the property taxes that we will be paying in the upcoming year, 2019. As you know, the local public school district is the largest item on your tax bill, so what happens at levy time impacts each of our household budgets.

Last year, Beecher 200U had a tax rate of $6.86; it is anticipated that next year’s rate will be slightly lower at $6.82. Should this come to pass, it would mark a second consecutive year that our school tax rate has decreased. If you would like to access specific information from the presentation to the Board, click HERE.

The Board of Education is very aware of how much the local property tax rate impacts our citizens and community, so much that it has become a part of their formalized Board Goals. However, I will cover that in my next post.

As always, if you have questions or would like more information on a specific topic, please drop me a note at bcox@beecher200u.org.
