There will be a Superintendent Forum for the community this Tuesday, November 5th. This is an opportunity for the community to show up and ask anything they want or need more information on. The forum will be held in the High School Library starting at 6 pm. We hope to see you there!
For the first time in a decade, we are running our own cafeteria program. For years, we have had a third party provide lunch for our kids… and it could have been better. So this year, we are planning our own menus and finding quality, tasty meals. Most of our food comes from Gordon Food Service (GFS), so we know that it is going to be fresh and delicious! We are getting back to the basics: mini corn dogs, chicken sandwiches, and pepperoni pizza. So far, the hit of the year has been bosco sticks and marinara sauce. That being …
Beecher School District 200U is accepting bids for snow removal for the 2019/2020 school year until 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at which time bids will be opened in the District Office at 538 Miller Street, Beecher, IL 60401. Interested parties should contact the District Office for additional specifics. Beecher School District 200U has the right to reject any and all bids.
On Wednesday, October 23rd, the BHS and BJHS band and choir programs performed “Music of the Stage and Screen” at the 2019 Concert for the Hungry. Selections included “Seasons of Love” from RENT, “Seize the Day” from NEWSIES, “Disney BlockBusters,” and “Avengers: Endgame.” The concert was held in the BHS main gym at 7 pm, and all of the non-perishable food items collected were donated to The Washington Township and Alicia’s House food pantries. Great job to all of the students! Bravo!!
Thank you to our band and choir for their Concert for the Hungry. The donations filled an entire truck! Congrats to Emily Hayhurst and Eric Stasko on representing BHS at State in golf. The Student Council sponsored Blood Drive will be Tuesday, November 5th at the High School Library from 8 am to 2 pm. BHS picture retakes will be held on Tuesday, November 12th. The cap & gown assembly for Seniors will be Wednesday, November 13th.
Quarter 1 grades have been posted and are available in PowerSchool under the “Grade History” menu on the left. Quarter 1 Honor Roll will be calculated next week along with Quarter 1 KACC Grades. Keep up the great work as we move forward into Quarter 2!
Cheer on the following competitors as they compete at state events this weekend: Emily Hayhurst for Girls State Golf playing Friday at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur Eric Stasko for Boys State Golf playing Friday at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington The Junior High Cross Country (Girls Team and Ethan Rapacz for the Boys) will compete at Maxwell Park in Normal on Saturday.
The Beecher School District grounds and ball fields will be treated for weeds and fertilized starting the evening of October 11th through the 14th.
