BJHS Mental Health Awareness Walk

On May 3rd, BJHS students participated in Bobcat Pride's Mental Health Awareness Walk. Students were encouraged to purchase a t-shirt, collect donations, and participate in the walk. All the money raised was donated to Elyssa's Mission, a nonprofit organization dedicated to suicide prevention education by implementing the Signs of Suicide Program with students. We had a beautiful day for our walk! Students followed the walking path from BJHS to Indiana Ave. and back. After the walk, they enjoyed popsicles, a few lucky students won gift cards or other treats, and participated in a few rounds of a fan favorite game: Knockout!

We are very proud of our students, families, and community members for taking the opportunity to purchase a t-shirt or donate to the cause. We are very excited to donate $3,223 to Elyssa's Mission. With our support, they will continue to bring suicide prevention education to students across Illinois. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a successful event for our school and community.
