As today marks the Illinois transition into Phase 4, the statewide re-opening plan allows for schools to return to regular session with a long list of regulations and stipulations. However, it is still June, and we are eight weeks away from school opening... and recent history has taught us that much can change in eight weeks.

Here in Beecher, we are looking at two models of schooling in August: 100% Remote Engagement and a hybrid model where only a portion of the students come on campus each day. As you know, we ended the last school year with Remote Engagement, so we have experience with it and can be even more effective if need be. With a hybrid model, we would make sure that students in the same family came on the same days, and it would also get us ready for the eventual possibility of a full return to campus.

In order to make these contingency plans as thorough as possible, I will be putting together a COVID Taskforce with meetings to begin the week of July 6 th . If you would like to participate, please let me know.

Stay safe. Be well.
